The region's only stand-alone distillery, Finger Lakes Distilling focuses exclusively on distilled spirits. As a New York State Farm Distillery, we turn to local farmers for the raw material for our products. Our spirits are distilled from scratch, in small batches, without any shortcuts. Our product line includes whiskey, grappa, a grape-based vodka, a gin created with unique botanicals, brandy, and a number of fruit-based liqueurs. In the future, we plan on producing aged brandies and other aged whiskeys. Keep checking back for new information as our product line expands.
McKenzie Bourbon Whiskey is a very rich, double-pot distilled bourbon. A local, heirloom variety of corn makes up 70% of the mash bill. We age in 10-gallon, new charred barrels and finish in local Chardonnay casks which gives the bourbon a round, buttery finish.
McKenzie Rye Whiskey is made from NYS grain and distilled using old-time techniques. We age in new charred quarter casks and finish in sherry barrels from local wineries. The sherry balances the spiciness of the rye and also gives a nod to the wine region where this whiskey is produced. Notes of orange peel, cardamom, mint and butterscotch. Exceptionally smooth for a young whiskey.
McKenzie Pure Pot Still Whiskey is our take on an Irish-style whiskey – soft, smooth and easy drinking. We use a combination of locally-grown unmalted barley and malted barley. The whiskey is aged in our used Bourbon and Rye barrels and bottled at 80 proof. Master Distiller Thomas Earl says: “Our Potstill Whiskey is a richer version of the commercial Irish whiskies on the market. It’s full of flavor, but smooth as silk stockings.”
Seneca Drums Gin is an expressive, yet harmonious, London-style dry gin, distilled from our own local grape spirit and a signature blend of 11 botanicals. The end result is a gin that is sure to resonate with both new gin drinkers and traditionalists. Seneca Drums Gin is zippy and fresh, with notes of citrus peel, juniper, cucumber, clove and light anise.
Vintner's Vodka (the winemaker's vodka) is made from a signature blend of local grapes. Vintner's is fruity and floral, with notes of orange blossom, cantaloupe, vanilla, and lychee. On the palate, it's smooth and silky, with a medium body and a persistent, spicy finish.
Vintner's Wild Berry Vodka is made by macerating local strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries in our Vintner's Vodka before a second distillation to further refine the taste and balance. Aromas of fresh-picked berries rise from the glass. Notes of strawberry shortcake, raspberry jam and lemongrass emerge on the palate.
Pear Brandy is a handcrafted, European-style eau-de-vie. We capture the true essence of the base fruit through distillation in our copper still. One sip of our Pear Brandy and you'll think you're biting into a sweet, ripe pear.
Finger Lakes Distilling Grappa is available in 3 varieties: Gewurtztraminer, Riesling, and Muscat. Each has its own distinct character, but all are highly aromatic and full of flavor.
Glen Thunder is a fine-tuned, true American corn whiskey, made to honor one of the world's greatest raceways, Watkins Glen International. The mellow corn flavors give it the feel of a smooth ride, but don't be fooled, because it's still got plenty of horsepower. The aroma of this whiskey is reminiscent of pulling back the husk from an ear of sweet summer corn. On the palate, it's crisp yet smooth, with toasty carmelized notes and a meaty finish - think cornbread with bacon!
White Pike Whiskey is a refined spirit made of a signature blend of locally grown corn, spelt and malted wheat. Distilled with precision and aged in 18 minutes, White Pike is rich through the middle and finishes smooth, still young enough to mix in ways brown whiskeys won’t. With notes of buttered toast and warm apple pie it’s easy drinkin’ and uniquely versatile. Shoot it fast, sip it slow, or mix it with anything from pomegranate juice to pickle brine. Maplejack Liqueur / Cassis Liqueur / Raspberry Liqueur / Cherry Liqueur / Blueberry Liqueur : Maplejack Liqueur starts as an apple brandy made from New York State apples. It is aged in oak barrels and sweetened with local maple syrup. Aromas of caramel and mulled cider greet you. The palate is round, with just a touch of sweetness from the maple syrup. Our fruit-based liqueurs are all made in the same traditional manner, by soaking the fruit in a neutral spirit, then sweetening to taste. All our liqueurs are natural with no artificial flavors and remain very true to the character of the fruit. |
